In order to make the language learning as optimal and as functional as possible, our teachers and curriculum developers use on the resources that you already possess, such as previous experiences and knowledge of languages. For example, what do you need to communicate if you want to go and grab a cup of coffee with a friend?

Hi there, I’m Mirko. Just like you, I came to live, study and work in the Netherlands from a foreign country.
Although probably unlike you, I studied Linguistics and Dutch language back home, taught Dutch to university students and started giving private Dutch lessons to expats after I arrived to the Netherlands.
My students loved the lessons. As they said, the way I explained the Dutch language to them was always clear, logical and motivated them to use what they learned after the class.

How does the course work?
Everything that you needs to serve a purpose. That way, we can use the lesson time in the most optimal and effective way. Your learning trajectory involves 3 phases: the input, the activation and the consolidation phase.
The input phase is done at before each lesson and involves the receptive skills of listening and reading in Dutch. That way, you will be familiar with the topic, the words and the routines.
The activation phase is executed during the lesson – what you learned at home is broken down for you, explained, and then exercised in pairs or in groups, with close guidance and feedback by the teacher. The activation phase is also the most fun, as it compiles series of engaging, focused, and practical exercises. It feels like a fun game and there is never a dull moment.
The consolidation phase is done after the lesson. You will need to sit down, write a text and think about and in the Dutch language, and use the materials previously learned. All written assignments that are handed get personal feedback by the teacher.
That way, each lesson is nicely rounded and you get a wholesome online Dutch course!

What are the benefits of the online course compared to the offline course?
It goes almost without saying that you can enjoy the lesson from the comfort of your own home or any other location or device, as long as you have an internet connection; Aside from it being better for the environment as the materials are not printed, the online lessons leave a digital footprint. When a whiteboard during a regular lesson is erased, you lose the information. This information is all kept at an online course and you can go back to it anytime you like. other benefits to the online TaalBoost Dutch language course are:
I would like to see if the virtual course is something for me. Do you offer a virtual trial lesson?
Yes. We are more than happy to demonstrate the possibilities of the online real-time teaching. This can be done during the Online Demo Lesson. Look up the Online Demo Lesson in our Events.
Will you allow infinitely large online groups?
No. The groups are small and usually count from 6 to 8 participants. In order to guarantee the TaalBoost quality of teaching, the group limit is set to 12 participants. This number allows a good overview of the participants at the course: the teacher can follow each participant’s progress and provide sufficient individual feedback.
Can I record or rewatch the lesson?
Due to the privacy reasons, it is not possible to record the lesson or rewatch it. For more information on how we handle your data, please read our privacy policy.
What can I do if I miss an online lesson?
It is not ideal to miss a lesson, but you will be instructed what exercises you’ll need to prepare for the next lesson. Next to that, you will receive all handouts by email. Finally, the online exercises are graded automatically.
Can I join the online course at any given moment during the day?
No. The lessons are taking place real-time with other course participants and the teacher and can be attended only at the assigned times and dates.
Can I join the course from my phone or tablet as well?
Yes. Although you can enjoy the most features from a laptop, it is possible to join the lesson from any device, as long as you have a fair internet connection.
I am not that tech-savvy. Can I still join the online course?
As long as you have a device that is connected to the internet, you will be able to sign up for the course.
In what schedule can I attend the online course?
You can attend the online TaalBoost Dutch course either as an online Saturday course, an online evening course twice per week, or an online morning course twice per week.
